Step 3 - Alpha Beta Texture What?

Now the real fun starts! Open your favorite picture editor like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro and open the files you just exported. You should find your project at the location listed in the project panel screen.


Browse to that location and you should find 4 files in the Projects/ExampleTShirt folder. They should look something like this:


You will only need to edit 2 of these files:
The texture file: top~stdMatBaseTextureName.bmp
The alpha channel file: top~stdMatBaseTextureName_alpha.bmp

You should know a little about both of these files before you get started. The texture file is a flat picture that is wrapped around a Sim and is the file you will be doing most of your work on. Here is what a texture file will look like once you open it in your editing program:

The alpha channel file tells the graphic what to show and what not to show. Anything painted white will show up on your finished work, anything in black wont. Here is what a alpha channel file will look like once you open it in your editing program:
