SAY CHEESE: LOCAL CHEF'S SANDWICH IS CREAM OF THE CROP
The recent cooking competition at Sue's (Secret) Kitchen brought the Desiderata Valley foodies out to showcase their culinary talents. The competition was cutthroat, but in the end all of the contestants proved they could stand the heat.
Noteworthy among the many delicious entries were an exquisite Lobster Thermador presented by D. Shekell, some delectable Salmon prepared by C. Greaves, and the blue ribbon prize, an amazingly scrumptious grilled cheese sandwich.
"The inspiration for my dishes is unvarying," explained winning chef D.C. Pennelle. "I always begin with this very simple principle-add cheese."

CHEESY PERFECTION
Ah, grilled cheese sandwiches! Some Sims forever aspire to perfect this tasty treat. In honor of our most beloved sandwich, we asked our readers to send in their thoughts on this most revered of cheesy concoctions. Here is a selection of some of our favorite homages to the melted sandwich sensation.
Oh Grilled Cheese, how I love you so,
You pick me up when I'm feeling low.
You taste so good and are such a treat,
You really are the best to eat.
Ever so tempting, I can never say no,
Oh Grilled Cheese, how I love you so.
-Natalie
There's a snack that I make when I'm peckish
Or I'm feeling a bit 'what the heck-ish'
Grilled Cheese is its name
And I can't be to blame
Cos my cooking is somewhat low-tech-ish.
-Jo
There was a young lady from the Maldives.
Who was incredibly difficult to please
They tried lobster and steak
And ice cream with cake
But were stunned by her love for grilled cheese.
-Pete
Grilled Cheesy is easy
And ever so greasy.
With cheddar or Swiss,
A hot slice of bliss.
A guaranteed pleaser
For any old geezer.
The grilled cheese is king of the 'wich world.
-John
O melty wonder born of wheat and cow
Nor angel nor devil can explain how
Thy simple parts do combine to form
Nature's perfect treat, all toasty and warm
I must savor thee before the hour grows late
And thy heavenly center doest coagulate
So, dear one, into my belly with you!
Where we shall become one, half flesh, half goo.
-Dan
